For our 2025 Christmas bottling, we sent our Smoking Rooster, familiar from our last Armagnac release, on a whisky hunt from Armagnac to the Scottish Highlands. And he certainly struck gold! He returned with a fine 12-year-old single malt from an unnamed distillery.

But what do names matter when this dram delivers everything you could want at this time of year: nuts, roasted almonds, a touch of pepper, and a lovely, subtle sherry note with succulent raisins and vanilla sweetness, all rounded off with a delicate, not-too-obtrusive peatiness.
